If, like us, you love London for its legendary live music and high street fashion, you'll be happy to hear about the latest collaboration in the basement at Selfridges.
Oxford Street's grade two listed department store is home to a mix of iconic British brands and new design talent. You're just as likely to browse the latest streetwear as you are this season's Burberry collection. So it's no surprise to us that this pioneering retailer has thrown its weight behind local music with its newly launched Music Matters campaign.
Support for independent music venues is essential to London's live music scene as well as the wider London economy. And we can think of worse ways to show you care than an evening spent in Selfridges' subterranean "ultralounge". Transformed into an intimate venue for 120, this space will host gigs for all tastes until October this year, promising a "truly immersive digital set" at every event. Read more about it here.
At Dexters, we support everything local, making us the natural choice to sell your London property. Our agents are experts in their neighbourhoods and pride themselves on promoting property in London to buyers from all over the world. Contact the sales team at one of our 28 central London offices to hear more about our dedication to your sale.
The Ultralounge in the basement of retail behemoth Selfridges has previously been a Silence room, a Psycle studio and a full-on theatre. It’s currently going through another transformation and this latest incarnation is probably our favourite yet. Concerned at the dwindling numbers of independent music venues, the pioneering department store has decided to open its own. Launching on July 20, the 170-capacity venue will host weekly gigs from both established and up-and-coming artists (full list below) while the space will also serve as a state-of-the-art audiovisual content studio. And as if that weren’t enough, proceeds from the sale of tickets will go to the Music Venue Trust. This is all part of Selfridges’ Music Matters campaign, so there will be a ton of things happening around the store including free classical, acoustic and DJ performances.
